Jeanne A. Jason-Klinkel, 82, a former Dunmore resident, died Sunday at Aventura at Terrace View in Peckville. She was preceded in death by her first husband, John J. Jason, in 2002 and her second husband, Kenneth Klinkel, in 2013.
Born in Scranton, daughter of the late Alfred and Amelia Griffiths Thomas, she was a graduate of Scranton Technical High School Class of 1957, and prior to retirement had been employed as a branch manager for PNC Bank for many years. She had been a member of the American Business Women’s Association and had formerly served as a Republican Committee member in Dunmore. Jeanne enjoyed Bingo, traveling, visiting the casinos, and spending time with family.
Surviving are daughters Beverly Jason Francis and husband Corbett Francis of Woodbridge, VA; and Jeanne Zaloga and husband Dr. Edward Zaloga of Moosic; a son, John Jeffrey Jason and wife Vicki of Roaring Brook Township; grandchildren, Nicholas Pecuch and wife Carla, Alexandra, Mia, and Robert Zaloga, Jonathan Francis and wife Melissa, and Molli Jason and fiancée Kaitlyn Marcinkowski, and Galen Watkins; great-grandchildren Nicholas, Liza, and Vivian Pecuch; her sister Janice Burdett and husband Charles of Moosic; her brother David Thomas and wife Althea of Scranton; sisters-in-law Ann Marie Thomas of Scranton, and Anna Mae Jason-West and husband Edwin of East Stroudsburg; stepchildren Kenneth Klinkel and wife Doreen, Richard Klinkel, Mark Klinkel and Linda Young, Jeffrey Klinkel, Gretchen Jennings and husband Dave; several step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was also preceded in death by her sister Barbara Cotter, and brothers Charles and Alfred Thomas.
A funeral service will be held Thursday at 6 p.m. in the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home, Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore. Interment will be in Fairview Memorial Park at the convenience of the family.
Family and friends may pay their respects from 3 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
