Carol A. Mallas, 76, of Dunmore, died Thursday morning at Geisinger Community Medical Center, Scranton. She is survived by her husband, Robert Mallas, Sr. The couple celebrated 53 years of marriage on August 8th.
Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Mario and Katherine Pace Corazzi. She was a 1965 graduate of Dunmore High School and later went on to work at the National Bank in Scranton. Before retirement, Carol worked as the secretary in the guidance department at Bishop O’Hora High School in Dunmore for 18 years, and later worked in the customer service department at Boscov’s in Scranton for over 25 years.
Carol was an avid reader who enjoyed going to the beach and spending time in her pool. Above all, she was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who loved and cherished her time with her family especially her grandsons. They were the light of her life. Carol touched the lives of so many and will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, Robert Jr. and wife, Kristi, Falls; her grandsons Jacob and Aaron Mallas, Falls; her sister-in-law Joan Scannella, Dunmore; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Family and friends may pay their respects Thursday evening at the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home, Inc. 318 E. Drinker Street, Dunmore, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
A funeral service will begin Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
